Fedepom and Europatat are excited to announce the final program and distinguished speakers for the upcoming Europatat Congress 2025, which will take place at the Hôtel Barrière in Lille (France) on 11, 12 and 13 June under the theme “Potato leaders of the future: deciding under uncertainty”.

On Wednesday 11 June, Europatat members will review the different activities of the association during the meetings of its five Commissions (consumption potatoes, seed potatoes, sustainability, technical and regulatory issues, and RUCIP). These meetings are only accessible to Europatat members and sponsors.

On the next day, Thursday 12 June, the Congress will kick off with the Europatat General Assembly, an exclusive session reserved for Europatat members. At 11:30h, the doors will officially open to all participants, including FEDEPOM members, representatives from international and French institutions, journalists, and other distinguished guests. The EU agri journalist Rose O’Donovan will in charge of conducting the event and moderating the panel.

After the opening speeches of Fedepom and Europatat’s Presidents, Dominique Pere and Tigran Richter, Patrick Baudry, renowned former French astronaut and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, will deliver a keynote speech drawing parallels between leadership in space exploration and decision-making under uncertainty.

Organisers are now glad to announce confirmed speakers for the afternoon’s panel discussion entitled “The French table potato market and its impact on the rest of Europe”:

After the panel, participants will hear from Daniel Deschodt, Executive Vice-President & CCO Port of Dunkerque, Platinum sponsor of the Congress. Right before the official closure of the day, Dr Alain Baulard, from the Institut Pasteur Lille, will give an insightful presentation on the key role of potatoes for tuberculosis’ research.

To reinforce the networking and contact among the European potato community, the Europatat Congress will also offer different social events such as the traditional Europatat’s Gala Dinner on Thursday 12 June at the wonderful Opera Lille and an optional visit to the Port of Dunkirk on Friday 13 June.
