As part of Europatat’s Activity Report 2025–2026, President Tigran Richter has prepared a message reflecting on the key developments, challenges and achievements that have shaped the European potato sector and Europatat over the past year.

This foreword is particularly significant as it is the last one written by Tigran Richter in his capacity as President of Europatat, following four years of dedicated service to the association. Since his election in 2022, he has guided Europatat through a period marked by profound market changes, regulatory developments and increasing international challenges, while strengthening the association’s role within the European potato value chain and its engagement with EU institutions.
A new President will be elected during the meeting of the Europatat General Assembly on 4 June 2026. Ahead of this transition, we are pleased to share President Richter’s reflections with our members and stakeholders.
