Europatat welcomes its new member Comptoir du Plant, a French company specialised in the production, trade and supply of seed potatoes.
Every year, this company founded in 2000 grows around 650 hectares of seed potatoes in the North of France. To limit the production risks, Comptoir du Plant works with 65 producers (including basic seed ones) that are distributed in the main seed potato production areas. In total, more than 20.000 tons of seed potatoes are marketed every year by Comptoir du Plant to potato producers, traders, and processors from Europe and beyond.
Comptoir du Plant also develops potato varieties in partnership with other French and European breeders. Every year, more than 200 varieties are tested in several trial fields that are distributed in the main production areas in France.
