Europatat warmly welcomes Grup Șerban Holding, our first member from Romania, and a major agri-food group recognised as the country’s leading producer and supplier of potatoes for both processing and fresh markets.
Operating in the North-East Region of Romania, Grup Șerban manages an integrated business structure covering agribusiness, livestock farming, logistics services and food production. The company currently farms 13,000 hectares of land, including 2,500 hectares of irrigated farmland, which has enabled the development of a large-scale vegetable farm.
Thanks to these investments, Grup Șerban has become Romania’s main supplier of processing potatoes, with PepsiCo Romania as its key client, while also being one of the top year-round suppliers of fresh potatoes for modern retail. Its state-of-the-art storage and packaging facilities, located in Bacău and Vaslui, allow a storage capacity of over 21.500 tons of vegetables and 162.000 tons of grains.
The company is now expanding further with the construction of a new 30.000-ton controlled-environment potato storage facility and a frozen pre-fried potato plant, which will produce a minimum of 35.000 tons of French fries and 7.000 tons of hash browns per year.
